World IA Day 2013: Exploring and Expanding the Ontologies of Information Architecture

In some of the languages and regions we practice in, the words for “architecture” and “design” are quite different; in others: it’s the same word. Wouldn’t it be marvelous to understand if, when and how the discourses of architecture and design diverge and overlap?

The coordinators of the WIAD Johannesburg event will open the day and provide a brief introduction to the theme and newcomers to the field of IA.

10:00 – 10:30 | Bronwyn Kotzen (UrbanWorks) on her thesis work merging data-driven approaches to urban planning and architecture

11:00 – 11:30 | Terence Fenn and Jason Hobbs (Human Experience Design) on the inner city and information architecture approaches to the Johannesburg Art Gallery project
